Consider the following advice before signing a lease and living off campus:
- Talk to current tenants about the landlord. Ask about the landlord's response time to repairs, maintenance or other issues that are of your concern.
- See at least ten rental accommodations before signing a lease. There are more available places to rent than there are people to rent them, so you will not be homeless if you take your time viewing accommodations.
- Be a good neighbour to others living in the off campus community. Do this by knowing the City's by-laws pertaining to noise, parking, garbage and property standards.
